Legionella Testing
Water Testing
When it comes to water testing, there are many different samples that can be taken to be analysed for water bacteria. We test for the specific bacteria that could cause harm:

-
Legionella Pnumophila & the various strains
-
TVC (Total Viable Counts) - General Bacteria
-
E.Coli
-
Coliforms
-
Pseudomonas
There are other specific water tests that we can carry out upon request.
Legionnaires testing or legionella testing is where water samples are taken from tap outlets within a building and analysed for legionella bacteria. When completing legionella testing it is important to ensure that a UKAS laboratory is used for the analysis process.
Water testing must be carried out inline with the health and safety executives guidance documents (HSG274). This ensures it would comply with the regulations if you were to get audited.
All water samples are analysed by a UKAS accredited labortory.
Our Operatives will attend the premises and take the water samples. They will be transported to the laboratory on the same day.
Once the results are in, one of our Consultants will interpret the results with you and provide a certificate.
Legionella Risk Assessment, Legionella Testing & Legionella Training.
We are Legionella testing and legionella risk assessment experts with over 10 years experience within the industry. We pride ourselves on giving an excellent service that allows our clients to understand their Health and Safety (HSE) obligations. When we complete legionella risk assessment for a business or organisation, we help you understand the entire process from the beginning. A legionella risk assessment is an in-depth survey of the water system within the premises. It considers all of the workings of the water system and the potential risks it poses. Legionella testing should only be completed once a legionella risk assessment has been completed. The HSG274 part 2 guidance document recommends that a water risk assessment should be completed before any legionella testing or legionella sampling is completed.
When we undertake Legionella testing or legionella sampling, it is completed at the highest of industry standards and meets all requirements set out by the British standards and the Health and Safety Executives legislative guidance. This includes but not limited to BS 7592:2022, HSG274 part 2 and ACOP L8. Water testing and legionella analysis must always be completed using the correct size bottles and following the correct procedures. A UKAS laboratory must always be used for the analysis process to ensure it complies with the expectations of the Health and Safety Executive.
Once the assessment has been completed, it is important that the legionella risk assessment is reviewed by the responsible person and that all actions within the legionella risk assessment are completed and recorded. In some cases, legionella remedial works and required to reduce or completely remove the risks associated to legionnaires' disease and legionella bacteria.
Legionella training is also recommended. The HSE puts emphasis on all responsible persons to be legionella trained. This will help with interpreting the legionella risk assessment. L8 training or legionella training is an important part of becoming compliant. Our legionella training will satisfy the Health and Safety (HSE), Care Quality Commission (CQC) and OFSTED. The legionella training can be completed on-site (recommended) or online via zoom (or similar). The legionella course can take between 2-3 hours and once completed a legionella certificate will be issued.
